1275, as a fortified quay or ferry berth of the Archbishop of Lund, some 20 km
to the north-east. It was, for centuries, Denmark's second biggest city
experience — all of Malmö from land and from the winding canal. This is
our most extensive tour, guiding you through the whole city in 2,5 hours. This
tour begins with a 90-minute bus ride through central parts of the city and the
areas surrounding Malmö. The bus tour is then followed by a boat trip along
Malmö’s beautiful canals and under all the bridges. It’s the ultimate Malmö
experience!
Guided tour through Christiania
This is a guided walking tour
to Christiania, also known as Freetown Christiania (Danish: Fristaden
Christiania). It is a self-proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood with about 850
residents, covering 34 hectares (85 acres) in the borough of Chistianshavn in Copenhagen.
From an official point of view, Christiania is regarded as a large commune, but
its relation to the authorities has a unique status in being regulated by a
special law, the Christiania Law of 1989 which transfers parts of the
supervision of the area from the municipality of Copenhagen to the state.
Christiania has been a source of controversy since its creation in a squatted
military area in 1971. Its cannabis trade was tolerated by authorities until
2004. Since then, measures for normalizing the legal status of the community
have led to conflicts, and negotiations are ongoing. A must tour!
